Children will engage in playing the organ during the sorting event
In the heart of Ekaterinburg, a new music school has risen, offering a haven for aspiring musicians. The new building for Music School No. 7, named after the renowned composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, has been completed at the Sortirovka.
The new structure, spanning 1,300 square meters over two stories, houses choral classes, spacious theory classrooms, a large orchestra hall, and a professional recording studio. The building, which cost around 190 million rubles, was funded by regional and city budgets.
The school can now accommodate twice as many students, up to 800 young musicians, starting from September. Special attention was given to acoustics in the building, with curved walls and sound-absorbing tiles in the organ hall. This makes it the first and only school in the region to boast a 118-seat concert hall equipped with its own electronic organ.
Alexei Orlov, in a post on his Telegram channel, noted that teachers and students had been dreaming of expanding the school for over 20 years. The new building is a testament to their perseverance and passion for music.

Plans for the future include the formation of a wind orchestra and jazz ensembles, promising even more opportunities for students to hone their craft and explore different genres of music.
This new music school is a beacon of hope and creativity in Ekaterinburg, fostering the next generation of talented musicians. It stands as a testament to the power of music and the dreams of those who love it.
