China Southern Airlines obtaining in-seat electricity supply from Burrana
In a groundbreaking move, Burrana's RISE Power solution is set to transform the charging experience for passengers on China Southern Airlines' Airbus A320 family aircraft.
The multi-year collaboration between Burrana and China Southern Airlines will see the installation of RISE Power across 37 aircraft, starting with the first installation in 2025. This partnership marks Burrana's first linefit deployment.
The USB-C 60W charging specification, known for its high powered, rapid, and reliable charging capabilities, will be used in these aircraft. This means that passengers will be able to charge their personal electronic devices, including laptops, efficiently during their flights.
The RISE Power solution has been seamlessly integrated into the Jiatai JT220 series seats, ensuring a smooth and unobtrusive addition to the aircraft's interior. This integration aims to enhance passenger comfort by providing modern power options, eliminating charging concerns even on the longest flights.
China Southern Airlines' decision to equip their Airbus A320 family aircraft with RISE Power underscores their commitment to delivering an exceptional passenger experience. The airline's drive for efficiency and sustainability is also supported by this installation, as RISE Power contributes to a more eco-friendly in-flight environment by reducing the need for excess charging equipment.
Despite initial speculation, it's important to note that this program does not involve the Airbus A350-900, contrary to the title "China Southern selects Recaro R3 for A350-900."
Burrana recently delivered its first RISE Power installation, marking a significant milestone in this collaboration. The installations are scheduled to continue from 2025 to 2028, promising a brighter and more connected future for passengers on China Southern Airlines' Airbus A320 fleet.
