Chinese Prime Minister Chinh initiates his visit in Tianjin, commencing his work trip for the attendance of the SCO Summit.
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has arrived in Tianjin, China, marking the beginning of a working trip to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit 2025. Upon his arrival at Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Chinese Minister of Transport Liu Wei welcomed him. Our Ambassador to China, Phạm Thanh Bình, was among those present to greet him.
During the SCO Summit 2025, Prime Minister Chính will have bilateral meetings with leaders of member states, international organisations, and large business groups. These meetings will aim to concretise and effectively implement high-level common perceptions, especially agreements during mutual visits between the two Party General Secretaries.
The PM's meetings with leaders of member states will take place within the framework of the SCO Summit 2025. Among the leaders he is scheduled to meet are Presidents Vladimir Putin (Russia), Xi Jinping (China), Massoud Pezeshkian (Iran), and Narendra Modi (India), as well as other representatives from SCO member and observer states.
In addition to these meetings, Prime Minister Chính will also meet with senior Chinese leaders to maintain high-level strategic exchanges and enhance political trust. The meetings with China will focus on strategic cooperation areas such as strategic infrastructure, trade, investment, science and technology, education and training, green transition, digital transformation, security, culture, and tourism.
The bilateral activities between the PM and China will take place in the year marking the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The "Việt Nam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025" is also part of the PM's activities.
Prime Minister Chính is also expected to deliver an important speech at the expanded session of the SCO Summit 2025. In his speech, he will share Việt Nam's achievements and orientations for socio-economic development, express the country's viewpoints and wishes to promote cooperation for the goal of rapid and sustainable development.
Furthermore, the PM's meetings will focus on mobilising resources to serve the country's development goals. The PM will have bilateral meetings with leaders of countries, international organisations, and large business groups during the SCO Summit 2025 to achieve these objectives.
Yu Yunlin, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal People's Congress, was also present at the airport to welcome the Prime Minister. The PM's visit and activities in China are anticipated to strengthen bilateral relations and foster cooperation between the two nations.
