Church concert featuring "The String Company" scheduled for September 25, 6th in Schweina
The String Company, a renowned ensemble in the Thuringian folk and klezmer scene, will be performing at the Laurentius Church in Schweina on Saturday, September 6, 2025. This multicultural group, formed around the turn of the millennium, has made a name for itself as a regular fixture at major festivals and in Jewish communities.
The ensemble, which includes musicians from Uzbekistan, Serbia, and Germany, is known for its innovative approach to music. They perform a variety of styles, including world music, gypsy, Balkan, klezmer, and chanson. The music of The String Company serves as a bridge between different cultures, sung in multiple languages such as English, Russian, Yiddish, Hebrew, Spanish, and others.
The concert will feature Lev Guzman on the viola, Nils Würfel on the double bass, Martin Chavez on the guitar, Reinhard Schwalbe on the violin, Marion Minkus on vocals, and Ljubo Mitrović on the accordion.
Advance tickets for the concert are available for 20 euros at Friseur Nürnberger, Hubertus Apotheke in Schweina, and the post office in Bad Liebenstein. Tickets at the door will cost 23 euros. A refreshment will be available in the church garden for guests.
