City Bicycling Set for May 18th
The city of Garbsen-Seelze is gearing up for its annual Bike to Work event, a three-week initiative aimed at promoting cycling for cost-saving, health promotion, and climate protection. The event, which runs from May 18th to June 7th, is being organised in collaboration with ADFC Garbsen-Seelze and is encouraged by Mayor Claudio Provenzano.
Last year, participants in the event collectively covered around 175,000 kilometers, placing Garbsen third in the Region Hannover in terms of absolute kilometers. This year, the event sees the introduction of a school competition called School Bike to Work, encouraging young students to join in the eco-friendly movement.
Registration for the event is now open at www.biketowork.de. For questions or concerns, participants can contact ADFC at (0 51 31) 5 57 84 or the city administration at (0 51 31) 70 74 79. Participants can also download kilometer cards and submit them by June 11th or email them to climateandenvironment@our website.
The top ten individual cyclists from Garbsen will be honored at a cyclist's barbecue with attractive prizes and vouchers. Moreover, the primary school class and the class from further education schools that cycle the most kilometers will receive money prizes and be honored at the city's cyclist's barbecue.
The Bike to Work event is not just about competition, it's about integrating cycling into daily life for the benefit of both climate protection and personal health. The city of Garbsen-Seelze invites everyone to join in this eco-friendly journey and make a positive impact on the environment.
