City Information Unified on a Single Hub
Marburg, the historic university town in Hesse, has launched a new data and information service called "Marburg in Numbers". This innovative service provides a wealth of statistics and data on various aspects of the city, making it the most comprehensive municipal data dashboard in the entire state.
The service, which can be accessed online and in mobile view, is free and intended for a wide range of target groups. This includes interested citizens, politicians, media, companies, teachers and students, as well as researchers.
Key Features of "Marburg in Numbers"
"Marburg in Numbers" offers statistics on a variety of topics, including visitor numbers in AquaMar or the city library, new solar installations, fire department deployments, birth statistics, mobility figures, employment and economic development, school numbers, commuter traffic, climate and energy, and more.
The dashboard integrates live data from the German Weather Service, providing valuable information on weather, climate, and air quality. It also provides data on the development of publicly accessible E-charging points in the city area and the total charging capacity available.
The dashboard uses surveys, inventory data, and regional data from various sources. Under "Environment and Climate", data can be found on topics such as energy and resources, while "Life in Marburg" provides information on education and participation. "Economy and Work" covers local economy and individual traffic, among other things.
Expansion and Collaboration
"Marburg in Numbers" is based on existing dashboard solutions from the cities of MΓΌnster and Aschaffenburg. The city administration has been working on this dashboard since the beginning of the year, and it will continue to grow and be expanded with further content and tiles in the future.
The implementation costs for "Marburg in Numbers" amount to approximately 12,000 euros (gross), with annual maintenance and operating costs, including solutions for accessibility, approximately 1,500 euros (gross).
A link from the dashboard leads to the city's geoportal "Marburg in Maps", where the locations of the E-charging points in the city area are listed.
Information at Your Fingertips
"Marburg in Numbers" provides answers to various questions about the city, such as population, apartment construction, temperature history, car registrations, rental bike usage, jobs, and commuter traffic. Under "Safety and Order", a diagram visualizes the fire department deployments, broken down by type, and a timeline provides information on the number of traffic accidents since 2015.
With "Marburg in Numbers", residents and visitors alike can stay informed about the city's development in a clear and accessible way. The dashboard can be found at https://marburginzahlen.unsere Webseite.
