Gießen Moves Towards a Digital Future with Fiber Optic Network Expansion
In an exciting development, the city of Gießen is set to embark on a significant step towards its digital future with the commencement of construction measures for a modern fiber optic network. This expansion, led by TNG Stadtnetz GmbH, is poised to enhance the city's appeal as both a residential and economic location.
Mayor Frank-Tilo Becher expressed his enthusiasm for this venture, stating that expanding this modern infrastructure is a crucial step towards Gießen's digital future. TNG Sales Manager Kilian Ortwein echoed this sentiment, expressing his enthusiasm for the cooperation with the city.
The expansion has already begun in some city districts, with Rödgen civil engineering work for the fiber optic network already underway. Five districts - Lützellinden, Allendorf, Kleinlinden, Wieseck, Rödgen, and Petersweiher - are scheduled to be connected in the near future.
TNG Stadtnetz GmbH is undertaking this expansion on a private enterprise basis, aiming to build a future-proof fiber optic network that will reach every residential unit in the city. Around 14,000 households will have the opportunity to connect to TNG's high-performance fiber optic network.
