City Theatre Kicks Off Exciting 2025/2026 Season
The City Theatre is gearing up for an enthralling new season, with a diverse range of theatre forms and exciting events, as announced by its Director, Simone Sterr.
The season, themed 'Traces', kicks off on Friday, September 5th, with special theatre experiences under the open sky on the theatre square. This marks the beginning of a series of outdoor performances, culminating in the season show, "New Traces 25/26: The Season Show," on Sunday, September 25th and 26th.
The season's first premiere is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th, in a production by Anaïs Durand-Mauptit, staged in the Great House. The second premiere, a world premiere, will take place in the Small House on a date yet to be announced. The name of the director for the world premiere of "Gloria" at the Kleine Bühne in September 2025 is currently unspecified.
The new season promises a musical treat as well. The 1st Symphony Concert, following the preview on Wednesday, September 3rd, features works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Richard Strauss, and Amy Beach, under the musical direction of Andreas Schüller.
The children's festival, opening on Sunday, September 7th, will see a children's and youth choir take centre stage. On Saturday, September 6th, there's an opera choir performance, tea and Bulgarian songs, and an open mic event.
For those planning ahead, all shows up to and including October are already on sale. The Card House, a part of the City Theatre, is open from Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. On-site staff is available to provide advice and assistance.
Simone Sterr, the City Theatre Director, is involved in the world premiere and welcomes employees for the new 2025/2026 season. Subscription discounts are available for many more offers.
