City's mountain bike skill park operated by KSV is now accessible
The KSV Unser Stadt mountain bike skill park was officially unveiled on June 5, 2025, marking a significant milestone for the cycling community in our city. The facility, located behind the Max-Riegel-Hall, has been made possible through the support of several key stakeholders, including the Landkreis Kassel, the state of Hesse, and the city of our city.
The ceremonial opening was attended by Silke Engler, the First District Administrator, who praised the project as a successful example of regional cooperation. Engler, who also participated in the opening, highlighted the collaboration as a model for future projects. Henry Richter, a representative from the city, echoed Engler's sentiments, commending the excellent cooperation between the club and the administration.
The construction of the skill park was no small feat, with more than 2,000 cubic meters of earth moved during the process. The project received great voluntary commitment from the cycling department of KSV our city.
The mountain bike skill park offers a modern training opportunity for both ambitious athletes and recreational cyclists. To ensure inclusivity, a material and bike container is available on the grounds, allowing children who cannot afford their own mountain bike to use the track after arrangement with the club.
