City's tourism department unveils citywide sale initiative due to decreased visitor numbers in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is gearing up for a grand comeback, as the city's tourism agency announces an extensive marketing campaign aimed at boosting visitation. The $35 million initiative, named "Welcome to Fabulous," is set to redefine the city's image and extend an invitation to visitors to rediscover the magic, energy, and unbeatable value of Las Vegas.
The campaign, led by Kristin Farmer, initiator of the "Welcome to Fabulous" campaign for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, will officially launch on Monday at 9 a.m. Eastern. The highlight of the launch will be "The Fabulous 5-Day Sale," a destination-wide event that will run from Monday to Friday.
The sale, available at VisitLasVegas.com/Deals, aims to address the recent downturn in visitation over the summer and the media perception that Las Vegas resorts are overpriced. It will offer deals on resorts, restaurants, entertainment, and experiences, with the recovery of visitation expected by the end of this year and into 2026, primarily due to convention bookings.
The marketing campaign takes its name from the city's iconic sign and incorporates various elements such as broadcast, digital, out-of-home, partnerships, activations, and citywide events. A 60-second travel-inspiration commercial has already debuted on national TV, and Las Vegas landmarks have been lit up with the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" message.
A 3D anamorphic billboard in Times Square showcases Las Vegas imagery, while a larger-than-life billboard has been installed on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, blinking between "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" and "Come to Fabulous Las Vegas." To add to the excitement, a "Fabulous Pickups and Photo Opportunity" has been launched at Harry Reid International Airport.
Moreover, "The Fabulous Tunnel Walk at Allegiant Stadium" is scheduled for Monday, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the city's vibrant energy. The campaign is part of a year-long blitz, with the aim to boost visitation, which is currently down 8% for the year and 12% in July.
With the "Welcome to Fabulous" campaign, Las Vegas is set to captivate visitors once again, inviting them to experience the city's unparalleled charm and hospitality. So, get ready to be a part of this fabulous journey and make your way to Las Vegas!
