Clash with Police Post World Cup Celebrations
In an unexpected turn of events, a riot broke out at Enzauenpark following the World Cup opening match of the German national football team on Sunday evening. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Eutinger Straße and Stückelhäldenstraße, involved resisting fans and resulted in resistance against a police officer who was on duty.
The riot began shortly after the match, with a fight reportedly taking place between two fans. A police officer, who was privately driving in the Eutinger Straße area at around 7:15 PM, witnessed the altercation and attempted to intervene.
The officer identified himself as a police officer and tried to detain a 25-year-old attacker involved in the fight. However, the attacker, in an attempt to flee, struck the officer. Faced with a threatening crowd, the officer was forced to retreat to his private vehicle. Before being arrested by responding officers, the 25-year-old attacker dented the rear hatch of the police officer's vehicle.
Unfortunately, the altercation did not end there. Another young man was being punched during the fight, and the 24-year-old victim had to be taken to the hospital with facial injuries. While the attackers have not been specifically identified in the available information, the 25-year-old attacker was later apprehended.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining peace and order, especially during large-scale events like the World Cup. The authorities are urging spectators to respect the rules and regulations and to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
