Mercedes-Benz Shines at Pebble Beach 2025
Mercedes-Benz turned Pebble Beach into a red-carpet premiere, showcasing its heritage and future models at the renowned car event in 2025. The celebration included the Concours d'Elegance, Tour d'Elegance, Laguna Seca track demos, and more.
The star of the show was the 1910 Benz Prinz-Heinrich-Wagen, which won the Charles A. Chayne Trophy. This pioneering vehicle, 115 years old, is a testament to the advancements in engine technology and design. Marcus Breitschwerdt, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH, had the honour of driving the vintage car during the Tour d'Elegance.
The 1910 Benz Prinz-Heinrich-Wagen features a 5.7-litre four-cylinder engine with 59kW, four-valve heads, and dual ignition. Interestingly, only two of these iconic vehicles are known to exist today.
Mercedes-Benz also showcased new concept and luxury models at Pebble Beach. The Concept AMG GT XX, an extreme take on Mercedes' sports car, was on display. This concept car promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience with its powerful engine.
Another intriguing model was the Vision V, teasing a luxury people-mover. The Vision V, like the Concept AMG GT XX, was also showcased at Pebble Beach, offering a glimpse into Mercedes-Benz's future.
To celebrate F1's 75th anniversary, Mercedes-Benz displayed several iconic racing cars. The W 196 R, 300 SLR, and 2009 SLR McLaren Stirling Moss were all on display. The 300 SLR sports car, famed for Stirling Moss' 1955 Mille Miglia heroics, boasts a power output of 228kW. The 1955 W 196 R Grand Prix car, Fangio's title-winning machine, has a power output of up to 213kW.
The modern echo of the 300 SLR sports car, the 2009 SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, was also displayed at Pebble Beach with a power output of 478kW.
Lastly, the Maybach S 680 Edition Emerald Isle, inspired by Pebble Beach's coastal setting, was displayed with only 25 units produced. This exclusive model is a fitting addition to the luxurious line-up showcased at Pebble Beach 2025.
In conclusion, Mercedes-Benz successfully showcased its rich history and promising future at Pebble Beach 2025. From the restoration of the 1910 Benz Prinz-Heinrich-Wagen to the unveiling of the Concept AMG GT XX and Vision V, the event was a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and excellence.
