Classical music makes a comeback in central Bucharest as the 6th edition of the 'George Enescu Festival Square' unfolds.
George Enescu Festival Square Returns for Sixth Edition
Get ready, Bucharest! The George Enescu Festival Square is set to open once again, this time for its sixth edition, from September 17 to September 21. This popular public extension of the prestigious George Enescu International Festival is organized by ARCUB, the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest, in partnership with ARTEXIM under the Ministry of Culture.
The five-night event will take place in George Enescu Square, where performances are scheduled daily between 18:00 and 21:30. This year, the festival promises an exciting lineup of musicians and orchestras, including Alexandru Tomescu, Horia Mihail, Camerata Regala, and the George Enescu Philharmonic.
But that's not all! The festival will also showcase young artists supported by the Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation. Talented individuals such as Maria Popescu (soprano), Andrei Ionescu (violin), Elena Georgescu (piano), and Mihai Vlad (cello) will be gracing the stage with their skills.
In addition to the classical concerts, the festival will feature an operetta performance and a concert by the Radio Romania Big Band on the closing night. A special exhibition titled Passions and Pursuits of the Royal Family Over Time will also be part of the festival, featuring more than 60 works by young visual artists.
One of the best things about the George Enescu Festival Square is that all performances are free! For more details about the festival, including the full schedule of events, visit Arcub.ro.
Whether you're a music lover, an art enthusiast, or just looking for a fun and free night out, the George Enescu Festival Square is the place to be in September. So mark your calendars and join us in celebrating the beauty of music and art in Bucharest!
