Classy Charisma Blended with Contemporary Aesthetics - The once Red-Brick Abode underwent a refreshing makeover, emerging as a spacious, refined, and delightful Southern-style home.
A Charming Modern Villa Near Bordeaux
Nestled near the city of Bordeaux in France, a red-brick home has undergone a remarkable transformation, thanks to the visionary design of Silka Ariel. The project, which began at the end of 2019 and was completed after three years, has resulted in a stunning blend of classical charm and modern features.
The villa's Master bedroom exudes a sense of luxury with its custom-made concrete fireplace surround and Arc stone concepts. The chocolate brown velvet fabric, a striking choice, adorns the bed, while the bolster pillows share the same elegant hue. The drapery in this room is a sheer with a blackout shade on top, provided by Modern Decor, offering a perfect balance of style and functionality.
The Master bathroom, equally impressive, boasts a huge shower designed with a matchbook pattern of Nash Stone's Fantastico Arni marble. The shower controls are conveniently installed right by the door, adding to the room's practicality.
The kitchen, a focal point of the house, embraces elegance and grace with contrasting materials, textured cabinets, and Calcatta Vagli stone from ABC Stone. Silka Ariel opted for a modern design that complements the villa's overall aesthetic.
The dining room, with its statement table crafted from travertine stone and constructed by Royal Marble, is a testament to the designer's attention to detail. Hand-painted murals by Susan Harter add a touch of artistry to the space.
The living room colours are a harmonious blend of reds and taupes, which complement the greens, nudes, and taupes in the dining room. The exterior of the home, including the front yard, carries a Southern vibe with a warm white paint and light grey accents.
Ashley Aaron was hired for the landscaping ideas, aiming to create a mix of neat and wild layers with a Mediterranean vibe. Travertine was used for all the outdoor paving, despite Ashley's suggestion that it is not a New York type of stone. The designer's vision for the project extended beyond the interior, as a custom iron entry gate was designed to welcome visitors.
Silka Ariel's goal was to create a sensory experience for her client. This is evident in every corner of the villa, from the carefully chosen fabrics and materials to the thoughtfully designed spaces. The construction continued during the global pandemic when lockdowns started to ease, demonstrating the designer's commitment to the project.
The transformation of this red-brick home into a charming modern villa is a testament to Silka Ariel's talent and vision. It stands as a beacon of elegance and sophistication, offering a unique blend of classical charm and modern features.
