Cloud security features debuted by OpenText in APAC region
In a significant move, OpenText has expanded its Secure Cloud platform with new capabilities for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) in India and the APAC region. This advancement is a result of OpenText's acquisition of Zix in 2021 and ongoing investment in Secure Cloud.
The Secure Cloud platform is designed to help MSPs meet rising data privacy and compliance demands under frameworks such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. The release features a modernised interface with optimised MSP workflows, data-driven security recommendations, and a full suite of multi-tenanted solutions.
More than 100,000 small and medium-sized businesses globally already rely on Secure Cloud. In India, the managed services market is projected to expand at 8.7% CAGR, reaching INR 93,197.3 crore by 2033. According to Canalys, the managed services market in APAC is projected to grow at 14.8% CAGR to US$80.9 billion.
Steve Stavridis, Regional Vice President, APAC, OpenText Cybersecurity, stated that there is a clear shift among OpenText partners in India toward managed services and hybrid delivery models. The enhancements to Secure Cloud are intended to strengthen resilience, profitability, and trust in the digital economy.
The expanded platform includes automated provisioning, integrated task management, enriched product recommendations, and streamlined billing and reporting. However, it's important to note that the digital transformation of Shawbrook is not related to the Secure Cloud enhancements or the managed services market in APAC or India.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Utkarsh SFB and Hitachi Payments have joined forces on card and payment services. This partnership is not related to OpenText or Secure Cloud, and it does not directly affect the growth projections for the managed services market in APAC and India.
As for the growth in the managed services market in India, it is attributed to rapid digital transformation, AI-driven threats, and regulatory demands. OpenText Corporation is identified as a key player in the enterprise content management and digital asset management markets, which are growing significantly in the APAC region due to increasing cloud adoption, digitalization, and e-commerce activities.
In conclusion, OpenText's enhancements to the Secure Cloud platform aim to support MSPs in meeting the challenges of the rapidly evolving digital landscape in APAC and India, while maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security.
