Collision between a motorcycle and a hay-carrying truck results in the motorcyclist's demise

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning near the town of Wangen in the Allgäu region. At around 10:40 AM, a motorcyclist lost his life in an accident on the K8007 road between Praßberg and Beutelsau.

The 39-year-old motorcyclist was attempting to overtake a tractor when he lost control of his motorcycle. The tractor, a hay wagon being driven by a 55-year-old man from the town of Kempten, was unable to avoid the collision due to the sudden overtaking maneuver.

The motorcycle and the tractor collided on a straight section of the county road, causing the motorcyclist to end up on the shoulder of the road. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the motorcyclist passed away at the scene of the accident.

The police are investigating the accident, focusing on the cause of the motorcyclist's reckless overtaking. They are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to come forward with information that may help in their investigation.

The affected section of the county road was closed for approximately four hours while the police conducted their investigation and the emergency services cleared the scene. The road reopened at around 3:30 PM.

Thankfully, the tractor driver was unharmed in the accident.
