Fatal Car Accident on A1 Near Leverkusen: Woman Airlifted to Hospital
A tragic car accident occurred on Federal Highway 1 near Leverkusen on Wednesday evening, resulting in the closure of the A1 in the direction of Dortmund from the Leverkusen interchange.
According to the traffic accident investigation team on the scene, the accident involved a 29-year-old woman in an Opel Corsa and a collision with a trailer of a stationary truck. The woman, identified as Sirikanda Pagkheepan, a 29-year-old Thai woman who owns a store called "Buddha", was severely injured and trapped in her car.
Rescue services extricated the woman and initiated resuscitation efforts. She was then transported by helicopter to a hospital for treatment. The woman's children, aged 9 and 11, were also in the car and sustained minor injuries. They are currently receiving medical care.
The truck driver, a 61-year-old individual, was not identified in the provided information.
