Collisions on Zebra Crossings
In the heart of Neuss, a tragic incident occurred on September 15, 2020, at a zebra crossing on Further Street near Burgundy Street. The accident, which took place around 9:20 AM, involved an elderly woman and an 83-year-old man from Neuss on a small motorcycle.
The accident occurred on a pedestrian crossing, resulting in severe injuries for both parties. The central traffic accident investigation team of the police in Rhein-Kreis Neuss swiftly responded to secure the scene. The area was closed off for the duration of the investigation.
Further investigations will be handled by the responsible traffic commission, typically the local police or traffic authority in the jurisdiction where the accident occurred. In Germany, traffic accidents are generally investigated by the police, and further administrative or legal proceedings may involve the local Verkehrsanmt (traffic office) or Ordnungsamt depending on the location.
Both parties were transported to hospitals following the accident for immediate medical attention. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
