Colombia to Assume Position as Chair of the International Federation of Gaming Machines (FIJA)
The International Federation of Games of Chance (FIJA) was first announced on 4th September 2025, marking a significant step towards consolidating an international platform for the gaming industry. Established by Colombia's Fecoljuegos, the federation aims to serve as a reference point for operators and drive modern regulatory frameworks.
The non-profit entity, FIJA, will allow for the development of joint strategies based on principles such as respect for each country's autonomy, horizontal equality among members, transparency, genuine collaboration, confidentiality, voluntary participation, strong commitment to legality, and integrity.
Another strategic pillar of the federation is promoting digital transformation and innovation to enhance competitiveness and ensure effective control and prevention mechanisms. The federation seeks to provide a permanent space for dialogue and collaboration among international industrial groups in Latin America, with the goal of fostering regional industry integration and consolidating a network of shared solutions.
One of the main objectives of FIJA is to pursue these shared objectives efficiently, with a focus on legality, transparency, and collaboration. The federation pledges to review social and environmental commitments to reinforce the sector's responsibility towards society and the environment. Defending the sector's common interests, such as combating informality and upholding legality, is a fundamental pillar of FIJA.
All members are now signing the formal declaration, which will be released in the coming days. The federation aims to address matters that affect all members to propose solutions that can be agreed upon. As Colombia establishes itself as a key player in building strong international industry alliances through FIJA, the gaming industry is set to witness a new era of collaboration and unity.
