Celebrating Children's World Day: A Spectacular Festival Along the Rhine

On September 15th, 2023, the Rhine promenade will come alive with the celebration of Children's World Day, a grand children's festival that promises an exciting day of fun, learning, and entertainment for all ages.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of Children's World Day, a day that supports families in 190 countries, focusing on health, education, nutrition, humanitarian aid, and UN children's rights conventions. The federal government, along with various organizations, have signed these conventions, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring every child's right to provision, protection, education, and participation.

The festival will feature a variety of stages, stands, and play areas, showcasing performances from a diverse range of artists. Neusser clown Tiftof, Capoeira Biriba Brasil group, dance school Maria, singer Enkelson, and pop duo Pauly are just a few of the performers set to take the stage. CR7Z will also be performing his raps, adding a vibrant energy to the day.

For those with a passion for dance, Kabawil will offer a crash course in Streetdance-Hip-Hop for willing kids. The AOK stage will also encourage kids for sports and movement, providing an opportunity for them to get active and enjoy the outdoors.

In addition to the performances and activities, the festival will also include art, poetry, and information about children's rights. The Spektakulum, the youth welfare office stage, and the young action stage at Mannesmannufer will host performances from children's and adult choirs, a sports dance group from the city's facilities, Kabawil's Streetdance-Hip-Hop formation, and a secret main act.

The stage at Johannes Rau Platz will host music, acrobatics, magic, raffles, and dance performances. Pänz in de Bütt and Taiko Kids will perform after the big mascot meeting, with Taiko Kids playing the Taiko drum, a traditional Japanese instrument.

The festival is hoping for good weather to attract as many visitors as last year, when around 100,000 visitors came. The community supporting the event is not explicitly stated, but groups such as the Round Table Germany community are known for their supportive engagement.

With around 200 stands, play areas, and stages from municipal authorities, associations, unions, and denominational facilities, the festival promises to be a fun-filled day for everyone. So mark your calendars and join the celebration of Children's World Day on September 15th, 2023!
