Empfertshausen Celebrates 1200 Years with a Grand Home Evening
Empfertshausen, a village in the Rhön region, marked a significant milestone in its history as it celebrated its 1200-year jubilee in 2025. The grand home evening, held in a large festival tent, was a highlight of the celebrations and was filled to the last seat.
Mayor Antonio Häfner officially opened the evening, expressing his gratitude to the citizens for their courage and dedication during a crucial phase of village development. He praised the achievements and commitment of Empfertshausen's citizens in politics and the economy, looking back at the time after the political turnaround during his conclusion.
The event was musically enhanced by Ronald Müller's compositions. The musical opening was provided by the "Empfertshäuser Lied", a piece composed and written by Müller especially for the occasion. Müller, who also wrote the "Hans-Kahn-Lied", focusing on the Thirty Years' War, performed with his musician colleagues and received much applause.
The evening was not just a celebration of Empfertshausen's rich history but also a testament to its living sense of community, cultural diversity, and pride. Traditional festival and custom themes such as Kirmess, Herrschekloas, and Lichtmess were performed and celebrated. Numerous historical photographs were displayed, providing a vivid insight into the development of the village.
Bernd Weih delivered an extensive lecture tracing the history of Empfertshausen from 825 to the present. Guests were served a lavish buffet from the "Zur Linde" inn, run by the Lehnert family, making the evening an unforgettable moment in Empfertshausen's jubilee year.
The home evening became a powerful testament to Empfertshausen's enduring spirit and resilience. Häfner expressed his confidence that Empfertshausen will continue to walk its own path independently in the future. The motto of the event, "1200 years of village life - we celebrate our jubilee 2025", encapsulated the spirit of the evening perfectly.
