Commences once more, the Sanremo Festival, filled with youthful energy
The much-anticipated Sanremo Giovani 2026 is set to return for its fifth edition, promising another exciting journey of discovering fresh and promising talent in the Italian music scene.
Held at the prestigious teatro Ariston, the event will take place from February 24 to 28, 2026. The first screening of songs will take place in Rome at the Rai headquarters in via Asiago.
Carlo Conti, a renowned figure in the Italian entertainment industry, will serve as the artistic director and host of the event, which has a rich history of launching successful artists.
The Sanremo Giovani 2026 will feature a total of 4 young artists in competition, with the selected artists from the New Proposals section yet to be announced. Two additional artists will join the competition, chosen by Conti and the Musical Commission, from Area Sanremo.
The competition will commence with the first phase, where 12 artists will qualify for the semifinal on December 9. From the semifinal, 6 artists will advance to the final on December 14, broadcast in prime time on Rai1 from the casino Sanremo.
The live presentations leading up to the semifinal will take place on Rai2 on November 11, 18, 25, and December 2. During each presentation, six artists per evening will perform their songs live, with only 3 artists from each evening advancing to the next round, judged by the Musical Commission and Conti.
Interested participants must meet the eligibility criteria, which require them to be at least 16 years old by January 1, 2026, and not turn 29 by the same date. The deadline for applications is October 15.
