Commission's Role in Crafting Report on Community's Road Safety Strategy Implementation

On August 31, the district of Herford, along with various partners, is hosting the Traffic Safety Day in Kirchlengern. The event, taking place from 11 am to 5 pm on the grounds of the traffic authority, promises to be an informative and enjoyable day for all.

The focus of the event is on safety in road traffic for car drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Visitors can expect a variety of interactive exhibits and activities designed to educate and entertain.

Moderator Henning Tonn, a traffic safety advisor at the police in Lippe, will guide the program. He will be joined by a team of experts from the police, the traffic safety association, the community, the fire department Kirchlengern, and the district sports association.

Entertainment for children includes Sven Kampeter with "Puppet Paul" and singer "Faryna". Children with plenty of energy can play on the bouncy castle, while classic car enthusiasts will find examples of classic cars on display.

For those who prefer a more active approach to learning, the police will present a helmet test, distraction simulator, drunk goggles, and a vision and reaction test. The German Cycling Association will present a cargo bike, known as the "milla-bike".

The traffic safety association will bring a rollover and driving simulator, providing visitors with a realistic experience of potential road hazards. Staff from the traffic authority will help create a rescue card tailored to the respective car on-site.

Visitors who come by bike can have their bikes coded by the ADFC to better protect them from theft. There's a surprise for all visitors who come by bike, but it's not yet revealed.

District Administrator JΓΌrgen MΓΌller emphasizes that the event is definitely worth a visit and he himself won't miss it. The Kirchlengern fire department will present a rescue demonstration of a person from a crashed car at 2:15 pm.

Food and drinks will be provided throughout the day, making it a perfect opportunity for a family outing. The Traffic Safety Day in Kirchlengern is not just an educational event, but also a fun day out for the whole family. Don't miss it!
