Condor Completes Major AMOS Project, Marking a Milestone in Digital Transformation

After 30 years of using AMOS, German leisure airline Condor has taken a significant step forward in its digital transformation journey. The airline has transitioned from managing maintenance operations with a single Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC) to an Airlines and Maintenance Organizations Group.

This transformation was made possible through the AMOS Pro initiative, a project that involved a shift in Condor's database system and the transfer of data into a new, streamlined AMOS database. The project was a part of Condor's broader digital transformation efforts and was launched in late 2023, going live in July 2025.

Holger Barth, the project lead from Condor, mentioned that the AMOS project involved a rethinking of Condor's AMOS philosophy, data structures, and procedures to adapt to a modern, digital-driven, and lessor-oriented Airworthiness Management. The project's success was achieved through close collaboration between Condor's AMOS key users, project team, and CrossConsense specialists.

CrossConsense, a renowned aviation IT solutions provider, was involved in the project as dedicated specialists. The project manager of CrossConsense during the AMOS-to-AMOS data migration at Condor was AndrΓ© GΓΆtz. The project emphasized data cleansing and consolidation, ensuring that Condor's maintenance and engineering data is accurate and well-organized.

The successful completion of the AMOS project is a significant step forward in Condor's digital transformation path. Holger Barth expressed gratitude towards the CrossConsense and Condor teams for their work on the project, while Axel Christ, the Managing Director of CrossConsense, stated that the project's success was a result of the seamless cooperation, mutual trust, and dedication of everyone involved.

This strategic step positions Condor's data to support future operational excellence. By transitioning from a single AOC to an Airlines and Maintenance Organizations Group, Condor is now better equipped to handle the complexities of modern airline maintenance operations, ensuring a smoother and more efficient service for its passengers.
