Concentrated Efforts on Doncic: Aiming for Semifinals - Basketball Star in Sight

The German basketball team is gearing up for their quarterfinal match against Slovenia at the EuroBasket 2022, with the game set to take place on Wednesday at 8:00 PM. The contest will be broadcast on RTL and MagentaSport.

The team, coached by Alan Ibrahimagic, has proven its mettle in the successful group phase in Tampere, Finland. Ibrahimagic emphasizes a key difference between Germany and Slovenia: while several players can take responsibility in the German team, the Slovenians practically rely solely on exceptional talent Luka Doncic.

The Slovenian team, led by Doncic, poses a significant challenge. In their round of 16 game against Italy, Doncic scored an impressive 42 points, with 30 coming in the first half. However, he seemed to run out of steam and left the court briefly in the first quarter.

Despite this, the German team remains the clear top favorite after the elimination of the Serbs and French. Captain SchrΓΆder remains confident, stating, "It can't always go smoothly. We still believe in ourselves."

The team is determined to regain momentum after facing many disruptions in Riga. They struggled with pace and shooting in their hard-fought round of 16 win over underdog Portugal. Against Slovenia, the world champions want to show their Tampere face again.

Alex Mumbru, the national coach, is unwell but will remain with the team for the quarterfinal against Slovenia. Maodo Lo from ARD-Sportschau said, "Even Luka can't win a game alone. We're not playing against Luka Doncic, we're playing against Slovenia."

Defending against Doncic will be key to German success, but it is not the only factor. The team will need to maintain their composure and play cohesively to secure a victory. The dream of the German team's first title in 32 years is still alive at the EM, and they are determined to make it a reality.
