Concert dates at Wembley Stadium, featuring Coldplay, have been postponed on account of impending London Tube strikes.
Coldplay Reschedules Wembley Stadium Shows Due to London Underground Strike
Coldplay, the iconic British band known for hits such as "Yellow," "Fix You," "A Sky Full of Stars," and "Viva La Vida," has announced that their final two shows at Wembley Stadium, originally scheduled for September 7 and 8, 2025, will be rescheduled due to strike action on the London Underground.
The shows, which were set to take place during the band's 10-date run at the national football stadium, will now be held on September 6 and September 12, 2025, respectively. All tickets for the original dates will remain valid for these new dates.
The band expressed their apologies for any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling, stating that the RMT union walkouts on next Sunday and Monday make it impossible for fans to get to and from the venue safely. Without a Tube service, it's impossible to get 82,000 people to the concert and home again safely, preventing the granting of an event licence for the nights of 7th and 8th September.
Coldplay's Wembley run is significant as it is the first time an act will play 10 dates at the national football stadium in the same year. The band's eco-friendly Music Of The Spheres world tour includes these shows that have been affected by the strike action.
Some 10% of the band's proceeds from the Wembley shows will be donated to the Music Venue Trust to support grassroots UK venues and upcoming artists. Coldplay is set to break Taylor Swift and Take That's record of playing eight Wembley shows in a single year, a record that they currently hold.
Fans who cannot attend the rescheduled dates can get a full refund before noon on 2nd September. Returned tickets will go on general sale at 11am on 3rd September via Ticketmaster.
The strike action on the London Underground is still causing disruptions to various events and activities in the city, adding to the challenges faced by organisers and performers alike. Coldplay, however, remains committed to delivering an unforgettable experience for their fans, and we can look forward to their much-anticipated performances at Wembley Stadium in September.
