Confirmation of St. Pauli's Divine Presidium Membership - Huwer Begins His Term Too

The German Football League (DFL) recently held its annual general meeting in Berlin, where several key decisions were made.

On Thursday, August 19, 2021, the Supervisory Board of the DFL elected Stefan Kiefer as its chairman. Stefan Kiefer takes over from Hans-Joachim Watzke, who was re-elected as the speaker and chairman of the supervisory board. Meanwhile, Eric Huwer was elected to the DFL supervisory board, joining Oliver Leki, Jan-Christian Dreesen, Axel Hellmann, Steffen Schneekloth, Holger Schwiewagner, Marc Lenz, Steffen Merkel, and the DFL's own Marc Lenz.

In a partial meeting held on Tuesday, Oke Göttlich was elected as the 2nd division representative. Alexander Jobst, chairman of the supervisory board of Fortuna Düsseldorf, lost the election to Oke Göttlich. Oke Göttlich was also re-elected as the second deputy speaker of the DFL.

Oke Göttlich expressed his gratitude for the trust shown by the clubs of the 2nd Bundesliga and emphasized the importance of digitalization and internationalization for the future of the Bundesliga. He also mentioned the importance of sold-out stadiums, great atmosphere, co-determination, and strong identification in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Eric Huwer expressed his pleasure at being trusted by all 36 Bundesliga clubs and stated his intention to contribute to the topics, attitudes, and developments that have made the Bundesliga strong and ensure they continue to do so in the future.

In other news, FC St. Pauli tested with 2nd division side Holstein Kiel on Wednesday, but no further details about the results of the test were mentioned.
