Consultation on the following matters has occurred by the Commission:
In the heart of Giessen, a significant development is underway. From August 18 to early October 2025, Neustadt Street will be fully closed between house number 23 and Pfarrgarten Street for the installation of a main thermal heating pipeline and partial renewal of street lighting. As a result, nine bus lines in Giessen will be rerouted.
Neustadt Street serves as an important connection to the central bus stop, the "Marketplace". However, during the construction, only lines 2, 5, 9 (taxi line), and 15 will stop at the "Marketplace" stop. Passengers are asked to plan for extra time and apologize for any inconvenience.
The "Oswalds Garden" stop is completely omitted during the construction. Passengers temporarily finding their correct connection will do so at the "Berliner Platz" stop or the "Government Center" stop.
Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 will be diverted due to the road closure. Lines 3, 7, 12, 13, 800, 801, 802, and the Venus night bus will serve the "Mühlstraße" stop in the West Annex and the "Johannes Church" stop in the South Annex as alternatives. Line 2 cannot serve the "Bahnhofstraße" stop, but will instead stop at the "Katharinenstraße" and "City-Center" stations.
Local public transport experts at SWG expect delays due to the massive disruption in traffic management. A detour has been set up and signposted for through traffic. Ulli Boos, SWG spokesperson, stated that they are doing everything to minimize inconvenience for residents and businesses.

SWG is also renovating a portion of the street lighting at the same time, without extending the construction time. The work is expected to be completed by early October.
