Contest concludes in Rötz
On August 31st, the Ski Department of 1. FC Rötz will be hosting the Schwarzwihrberglauf, a much-anticipated annual hill run event. This year, the event will see a new addition - a 2-person relay race, open to both men, women, and mixed teams.
The hill run, which will retain its traditional route of approximately 12 kilometers, will start and end at the sports ground by the Irlweiher. The route, known for its challenging 320-meter elevation gain, will take participants through the picturesque Schwarzachtal area.
One of the significant changes in this year's event is the exchange point at kilometer 4.1, located at the old Wutzschleife. This change is particularly noticeable for the relay race participants, where they will be handing over the baton at this strategic location.
The Schwarzwihrberglauf is not only a local event but also part of the Landkreislaufcup, making it a significant event in the regional running calendar. The protection for the Schwarzwihrberglauf 2022 is organised by the volunteer fire department Oberwildenau, ensuring the safety and smooth running of the event.
While specific details about the participants and prizes for the event are yet to be announced, the excitement surrounding the new relay race and the traditional hill run route promises an action-packed day for all involved. Stay tuned for more updates on the Schwarzwihrberglauf 2022.
