Contestants Identified as Female Nearing Significant Milestone in World Series of Poker Main Event
The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event entered its third day with a thrilling lineup, featuring some of the most renowned poker players in the world. However, the day also witnessed several eliminations, including notable names like Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Doug Polk.
Among the survivors, Shotaro Kobayashi emerged as the chip leader, looking strong as the tournament moves towards its business end. Kobayashi, a seasoned player, has been in impressive form, having won the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event.
Other top chip counts on Day 3 include Max Neugebauer, who is in second place, Sam Jakubowicz, Juliet Hegedus, Sylwia Studniarz, Thomas Eychenne, Viktor Blom, Art Peacock, Nate Silver, Greg Merson, and two former Main Event champions - Damian Salas and Greg Merson.
Notable bustouts from Day 3 include Phil the Third, Brian Rast, David Williams, Greg Raymer, Jonathan Tamayo, and poker legend Johnny Chan. The Hollywood, Florida native, Juliet Hegedus, and the Polish player, Sylwia Studniarz, are also among those who made it through to Day 4.
Thi Xoa Nguyen, a player with three cashes at the 2025 WSOP and under $100K in earnings, returns to Day 4 with over one million chips for her potential fourth Main Event cash.
The final 1,476 players will return on Wednesday to eliminate 15 players and burst the money bubble. Each returning player who survives the bubble will earn at least $15,000.
In a surprising turn of events, Michael Zulker eliminated Phil Hellmuth, and Simon Levy eliminated Daniel Negreanu from the tournament. Doug Polk, who promoted WSOP's rival, ClubWPT Gold, on the livestream before his elimination, was also bounced from the event.
The final table of the 2025 WSOP Main Event, in order of finishing position, was won by Michael Mizrachi, followed by John Wasnock, Braxton Dunaway, Kenny Hallaert, Luka Bojovic, Adam Hendrix, Leo Margets, Jarod Minghini, Daehyung Lee, and several other players. Michael Mizrachi made history by becoming the first player to win both the Main Event and the Poker Players Championship in the same year.
