In the heart of Germany, the city of Detmold is making strides in supporting its children and families. The city administration, known for its proactive approach, has been recognised as a valuable partner to its citizens, consistently bringing relevant information to the people.

Recently, Detmold received a sum of 80,600 euros from the "kinderstark - NRW creates opportunities" funding program. This funding will be used to implement participatory graffiti projects for children and young people from various social backgrounds. The aim is to make the topic of children's rights visible in Detmold.

One such project is the Child Protection House (K.I.D.S), an innovative initiative aimed at supporting child protection. Detmold's family infrastructure projects, including K.I.D.S, the Family Info Center (F.I.T), and a new hub for youth-related questions and issues called PUB.I.T, are located throughout the city. They aim to make it easy for families to find all relevant information in one place.

Minister Josefine Paul, the Minister for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Refugees, and Integration in North Rhine-Westphalia, was impressed by Detmold's family infrastructure. During her visit, she was shown the different locations in Detmold that support the lives of children and families with these projects. Impressed by what she saw, Minister Paul announced further funding of 15,000 euros from the "kinderstark" funding program for Detmold's family infrastructure projects.

The family infrastructure projects in Detmold are part of a sustainable approach to municipal prevention chains, as outlined by Minister Paul. They are forward-thinking for the prevention chain, designed to be easily accessible for families, and are aimed at providing tailored offers to support the lives of children and families.

The state government's central concern is prevention and a good, healthy upbringing for all children and young people in North Rhine-Westphalia. This year, around 15 million euros will be provided to strengthen prevention in municipalities and accompany families and children in a low-threshold manner.

Mayor Frank Hilker emphasised that the success of Detmold's family infrastructure projects is due to the service-oriented and open approach of the city administration. Detmold boasts a multiprofessional, interdisciplinary team in its City Administration focused on the well-being of children and families.

With these new initiatives and funding, Detmold continues to demonstrate its commitment to the well-being and support of its children and families. The city's forward-thinking approach to family infrastructure projects is a testament to its dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
