Coolie's Box Office Receipts on Day 17: Rajinikanth-starrer on track to surpass ₹275 crore benchmark today
In the world of cinema, the Tamil-language action film Coolie continues to make waves, outperforming its rival War 2 and moving closer to a significant milestone.
Released on August 14, Coolie has become the 4th highest-grossing Tamil movie, according to early estimates. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Monisha Blessy, and Bollywood actors Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde in cameo appearances.
On Day 16, Coolie earned an impressive ₹500.25 crore globally, with the India gross standing at ₹323.75 crore. The movie's international earnings reached ₹176.5 crore on the same day.
Coolie's success is evident in its box office performance. On Saturday, the film earned ₹1.3 crore until 5:30 PM, and by the end of the day, it had an overall 18.90% Tamil Occupancy and a 9.64% Hindi Occupancy.
In a remarkable turn of events, Coolie surpassed War 2's Day 17 earnings, which were ₹42,00,000. However, Coolie's earnings declined by 29.17% on Friday, amassing only ₹1.7 crore on Day 17. As of now, Coolie's 17-day total stands at ₹274.5 crore.
Despite the slight dip in earnings, Coolie is very close to hitting the ₹275 crore milestone on August 30. The total earnings will be revised later in the evening, and Coolie's Day 17 global earnings will be published tomorrow, Sunday.
The movie has been released in four additional languages: Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, further expanding its reach and potential for continued success.
As Coolie continues its box office run, it remains to be seen how much further it can go before reaching its next milestone.
