Dortmund Playground Robbery: Suspect Arrested
In a recent development, Dortmund police have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with a playground robbery that occurred on September 6th at Zimmerstraße/Priorstraße. The man, who is stateless and known to the authorities, was apprehended shortly after the incident.
According to the reports, the 11-year-old victim was on the playground with his 11-year-old cousin around 19:50 when a man approached them with a knife. The suspect grabbed the boy's shoulder bag and searched through it, making off with an unknown amount of money from his wallet.
Witnesses in the area noticed the incident and the man fled the scene. The police officers, who were alerted to the situation, located the suspect in the Münsterstraße/Mallinckrodtstraße area. Upon approaching him, the man made threatening gestures and had used a knife during the crime. He was subsequently ordered to lie down at gunpoint, handcuffed, and taken into police custody.
The knife used in the crime has been secured by the police and will be included in the knife-carrying ban registry according to the platform concept. The police are currently conducting investigations and examinations of detention grounds, with the case number for this incident being 0770.
