Countdown to the projected unveiling of the iPhone 17 Pro: Will Apple increase the price tag?

The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Apple prepares to release the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max on September 9, 2025. Here's a rundown of the exciting features these new devices are rumoured to bring.

Starting with the hardware, both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to sport a 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display, respectively. The base model of the iPhone 17 Pro will retail for $1,199, a $200 increase from the iPhone 16 Pro, offering 256GB of storage. The entry-level iPhone 17 Pro Max will cost $1,299, a $100 increase from the 16 Pro Max.

In terms of camera upgrades, the iPhone 17 Pro might feature a 48-megapixel telephoto rear camera and an upgraded front-facing camera of 24 megapixels. The Pro Max could have a telephoto lens with up to 8x optical zoom, potentially offering superior photography capabilities. The camera bump on the iPhone 17 Pro models is rumoured to stretch across the entire phone, accommodating the enhanced camera system.

The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could also boast improved audio quality, thanks to longer earpieces and software updates. Additionally, they are expected to have a built-in video feature for simultaneous front and rear camera recording, making video production more accessible than ever.

Apple is also reportedly working on a vapor chamber cooling system to prevent overheating, ensuring smooth performance even during intensive tasks. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could also have all-aluminum frames or part glass, part aluminum for better durability.

One of the most intriguing rumours is the potential integration of a new metalens technology. This could lead to a smaller Face ID sensor and the introduction of Dynamic Island, a feature that seamlessly integrates notifications and other information into the camera cutout.

Lastly, it's worth noting that while Apple plans to raise iPhone prices later this year, a significant manufacturer price increase for the iPhone 17 Pro in Germany is not predicted. Instead, prices are expected to remain similar to the previous year for the main models, with the Pro model in Europe being sold at the previous price, and in the US, it will cost $100 more, but in Germany, it remains unchanged according to current information.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the release date of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max!
