The Inter-district Court of Akmola region has issued a verdict in a significant fraud case, involving the defendants Perizat Kairat and Gayni Alashbaeva. The duo was found guilty of fraudulently collecting and embezzling 3.5 billion tenge, a sum equivalent to millions of US dollars.

The money was collected during the state of emergency in Kazakhstan, under the pretext of helping with floods. However, the funds were not used for their intended purpose. Instead, they were transferred to personal accounts, used for purchasing a flower business, real estate, luxury cars, travel, repairs, daily needs, and other expenses.

The court noted the exceptional cynicism of the crimes and the commission of crimes during an emergency situation as aggravating factors. As a result, Perizat Kairat was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, while Gayni Alashbaeva received a sentence of 7 years, taking into account her advanced age.

In addition to the prison sentences, both defendants are banned from engaging in charitable activities for 10 years. The court also confiscated several properties and assets, including apartments in Akbulak Riviera, Sensata Plaza, Highvill Ishim Gold, Kok Zhaiylyau, A flower business named Rebel Flowers, a house in Vela Village cottage town, and various luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz S450, Lexus LX 600, Mercedes EQE 500, and Haval H6 GT.

Expert opinions and case materials were examined during the trial, along with physical evidence and testimony from victims and witnesses. The fake public association "Biz Birgemiz Qazaqstan 2030" was also found to have been registered using forged documents.

It is important to note that there are no available search results providing information about Perizat Kairat or any conviction by the Inter-district Court of Akmola region for a major fraud case related to charitable activities.

The verdict is not yet in force, and the defendants have the right to appeal. However, this case serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and accountability in charitable activities, especially during times of emergency.
