Criminal act involving stolen wires or electrical cables
In the early hours of Thursday, 04.08., a suspicious incident occurred in Alsfeld, a town located in the Vogelsberg District. An employee of a local energy supplier reported a power outage on Hochstraße, after unknown individuals forced their way into a transformer house on the former premises of a company, causing a disruption in the power supply.
The intruders made off with a large amount of copper cable, estimated to be in the lower five-figure range, and caused additional property damage of around 2,000 euros. The power disruption was resolved around 1.45 AM, and power was restored to the surrounding houses.
