The incident occurred at Goerlitz station on Saturday evening, when the Federal Police stopped the individual. Initially, the man claimed to have purchased the bike recently from an unknown person, but further investigation revealed that the mountain bike was actually stolen about two years ago.
The Federal Police managed to quickly obtain the phone number needed to locate the bike's owner, and the actual owner was found. The frame number of the bike was checked and revealed its true ownership.
