Criminal Offering of Stolen Heavy Equipment on Market - Police Arrest
In a significant development, the Federal Police Trier has made arrests in connection with the theft of several construction machines and tools from a welding company in Neuwied. The theft occurred on the night of January 7-8, 2025, at Neuwied station.
On January 10, 2025, a 40-year-old Croatian and a 35-year-old Turk were arrested in Limburg/Lahn. The arrests were made during a meeting at a petrol station, where the civil personnel of the Federal Police apprehended the suspected receivers.
The suspects are believed to be responsible for offering one of the stolen construction machines for sale. According to reports, an employee of the company alerted the Federal Police and arranged a meeting with the seller. The offered construction machine was subsequently secured by the Federal Police.
Whether the two men are also responsible for the theft of the previous day is the subject of ongoing investigations. The identity of the person responsible for the stolen construction machine has not been publicly disclosed.
