Criminals pose as telecom company, committing thefts
In the Hoberge-Uerentrup area of Bielefeld, a concerning incident occurred on Friday, December 27, 2024. According to the Polizei Bielefeld, a duo stole a wallet from a house on Dornberger Straße.
The incident unfolded around 2:00 PM, near Brunsiek Straße. The duo posed as employees of a telecommunications company to gain entry into the single-family home. Once inside, they asked the elderly resident to turn on the TV and proceeded to tamper with various electronic devices.
After about ten minutes, the individuals left the house and walked down Dornberger Straße towards Steinhagen. It was later that the elderly woman discovered her wallet had been stolen from her handbag.
The man involved in the theft is described as being around 20 to 30 years old, dressed in dark clothing, and has short blonde hair. He was wearing a lanyard with an ID around his neck. The woman involved in the theft shares similar characteristics, being around 20 to 30 years old with short black hair and dressed in dark clothing.
