Jeff Bezos' space exploration company, Blue Origin, has announced a new partnership with Shift4 Payments to offer a seamless and frictionless cryptocurrency payment experience for spaceflight bookings.

The partnership aims to make space travel more accessible to explorers around the globe, according to Taylor Lauber, CEO of Shift4. The new payment option is immediately available for all upcoming New Shepard rocket bookings.

The move comes after the successful flight of Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, who recently flew with Blue Origin on its 34th flight. Sun won an auction to secure his seat, bidding a staggering $28 million.

To start the booking process, customers are required to pay a deposit of $150,000. The new payment option supports a range of major cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, including bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), USDT, and USDC.

Customers can connect their crypto wallets directly for secure payment, with integration available for leading wallets like Coinbase and MetaMask. This partnership is set to enable adventurous travelers to book spaceflights using their preferred payment method.
