Cultural festivals unfold in Neuwied, establishing novel venues
The Intercultural Weeks (IKW) 2024, organised by the Kreisverwaltung Neuwied (District Administration of Neuwied), will run from 16th September to 12th October, under the theme "New Spaces". This year's event promises a diverse range of activities, involving numerous institutions, organizations, clubs, and volunteer networks.
The official opening of IKW will take place on Wednesday, 18th September, at 4:30 pm, with the Intercultural Women's Round, held under the motto "Success stories in intercultural dialogue". The event will feature inspiring stories from women who have navigated the challenges of intercultural communication and found success.
From Monday, 23rd September, to Friday, 4th October, an exhibition of Iranian artist Razieh Akbari will take place at the Mehrgenerationenhaus Neuwied, Wilhelm-Leuschner-Str. 5, Neuwied. Twelve young people can register for the role-playing game "A Step Forward" on the topics of equality and inclusion at [email protected]. The Joint Diaconal Works Rhineland-South is hosting an interactive offer for the same game on Wednesday, 25th September, at 4 pm.
For those looking to improve their German language skills, the "Language Goal: German" course offered by the Mehrgenerationenhaus Neuwied with the support of the Foundation of the Municipal Settlement Society (GSG) Neuwied is a great opportunity. The course by Mrs. Kessler can be visited on Wednesday, 25th September, from 2 to 3:30 pm without registration.
The Turkish-German Friendship Association e.V. (TDF) in cooperation with the VHS Neuwied is hosting "Pilates with TDF" on Wednesdays, 18th and 25th September, as well as 9th October, at 8 pm. Registration for the sessions can be made at [email protected].
On Friday, 20th September, Neuwied celebrates World Children's Day in the city center from 10 am to 4 pm, featuring craft and play offers for children, a presentation of action posters by 500 schoolchildren, and performances by the Cologne Spielezirkus and "The Findlings with Tamara dancing Tarantula".
The Cleanup Action Week for World Cleanup Day will take place from 16th to 20th September. Registration for the event can be done at www.cleanup-neuwied.de. On Thursday, 19th September, an Intercultural Hike is scheduled from 5:30 pm, organized by the municipal coordination office for integration in collaboration with Conrad Lunar, as part of the project "Place Change - Move Your Life". A film titled "Exile" will be shown as part of the Minski cinema program on Wednesday, 18th September, at 8 pm. The International Women's Group under the leadership of Mrs. Fricke and Mrs. Nadeem meets every Monday from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the Multigenerational House, Parish Hall, Wilhelm-Leuschner-Str. 5, Neuwied. Interested women are also invited on 23rd September as part of the IKW.
