In the bustling city of Turin, events have been unfolding that span various aspects of life. From education to healthcare, and transportation to community events, here's a roundup of the latest happenings.
Education
The Segre High School has merged with the Gobetti, creating a new educational institution. This merger is set to take effect from the new academic year. The class of 1975 from Segre High School, however, will still gather on October 4 to celebrate their 50th anniversary, despite the school being closed on that day.
Healthcare
Nanni Berruto, a resident of Turin, had an accident and received treatment at a medical center in Oulx. He received a follow-up phone call from the doctor who treated him, inquiring about the state of his wound. The medical center in Oulx provides care and follows up with patients after treatment, using innovative methods such as glues instead of stitches in many cases.
Transportation
A Gtt bus on line 42 collided with a large branch on Corso Dante, just before Alfieri High School, about a month ago. The direction towards the river on Corso Dante has been reduced to a single lane since the collision, and the branch from the collision is still present on the road.
Community
The queue to reach Corso Massimo D'Azeglio and the Lanza underpass is already impressive, and the response to a reader's request to reunite at the Segre High School was met with a statement that the school is closed on October 4. Graziana Galvagno and her classmates are disappointed with this response.
Charity
For those interested in donating to Specchiotempi, the tax code for donations is 97507260012. The website for donating is www.specchiodeitempi.org, and the contact number for information is 011.6568376.
Local Concerns
Roberto Bono has expressed concern about the upcoming educational activities at Alfieri High School and the University of via Marengo, and the potential traffic congestion on Corso Dante. Meanwhile, Sergio Calzone advocates for the City Council to use funds to fix the roads full of potholes instead of creating more bike lanes.
As always, stay tuned for more updates from Turin.
