Customs Clearance Success: German-Polish Border Operation Completed Efficiently

In a significant joint operation between German and Polish customs officers, an extensive cache of counterfeit cigarettes was discovered in the Polish town of Bogatynia. The operation, which took place on August 22, 2025, was part of the long-standing collaboration between customs officers from GΓΆrlitz and their Polish counterparts along the border.

During the inspection, customs officers observed an individual loading several boxes into his car from a garage. Upon further investigation, it was found that these boxes contained over 300,400 cigarettes of various brands, with approximately 90% of them being counterfeit. The tax loss from this operation amounts to approximately 370,000 Zloty.

The Polish man, known to the customs, is believed to have regularly supplied these cigarettes to markets near the border. Further investigations into this case are being conducted by the Polish customs.

Heike Wilsdorf, the press spokesperson for the Hauptzollamt (Main Customs Office) Dresden, confirmed the operation and provided the details. However, it's important to note that while Heike Wilsdorf is the press spokesperson, there are no publicly available details indicating that she holds a specific operational role in joint patrols at the border with Poland. Her role appears to be related to communication and press affairs within the Hauptzollamt Dresden.

For inquiries, the Main Customs Office Dresden can be contacted, with emails being sent to [email protected]. For more specific information, Heike Wilsdorf's contact number is 0351/4644-1044.

This marks another successful joint operation between the German and Polish customs, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the border and combating illicit trade. The official website of the Main Customs Office Dresden is www.zoll.de, where more information about their operations can be found.
