Customs Insights Day in Magdeburg and Halle (Saale) during the fall break, promoted by HZA-MD in Saxony-Anhalt
The Main Customs Office in Magdeburg, a local authority of the customs administration in Saxony-Anhalt, has announced a Zollinfotag (Customs Information Day) for students during the autumn holidays in 2025. This event aims to present the customs office as an attractive employer and provide insights into the daily work of customs officers.
The Zollinfotag will take place on two separate days: October 16, 2025, in Halle (Saale, at the Main Customs Office Magdeburg, Merseburger StraΓe 196), and October 23, 2025, in Magdeburg-Rothensee. The event will run from 9 am to 2 pm.
To participate, students must attend a secondary school (Sekundarschule) and aim for at least an intermediate school leaving certificate, or already have a school leaving certificate (at least intermediate). Interested students can apply by sending an email to [email protected].
During the Zollinfotag, students will be divided into small groups to learn about various areas such as financial control of undeclared work, customs office, customs investigation, control unit for traffic routes, examination service, and the area of duty collection.
In 2024, the Main Customs Office in Magdeburg uncovered approximately 14.2 million euros in damages caused by undeclared work. On a more positive note, the office collected approximately 1.9 billion euros in taxes and duties and processed around 241,000 customs declarations. The office also seized around 707,000 cigarettes and 390 kg of illegal fireworks.
