Mattia Cattaneo Joins Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe Ahead of 2026 Season

Italian cyclist Mattia Cattaneo is set to make a move to Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe for the 2026 season, marking a new chapter in his career. Cattaneo, who has spent the past few years with Soudal-QuickStep, will be following Remco Evenepoel to his new team.

Cattaneo, a seasoned rider with 14 Grand Tours under his belt, has had a successful career so far. His only WorldTour victory came in the form of the time trial at the 2023 Tour de Pologne. He has also achieved impressive results, coming second on stages in both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France.

Ralph Denk, CEO of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, expressed his excitement about the addition of Cattaneo to the team. "Mattia brings race awareness, experience, and a big engine to our team," Denk said. "We are confident that he will be a valuable asset to our squad."

Meanwhile, Bruno Armirail, a French time trial champion, has signed with Visma-Lease a Bike for the 2026 season. Armirail, who spent six seasons with Groupama-FDJ before moving to Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale in 2024, brings a wealth of experience to his new team.

Armirail has raced in nine Grand Tours, including three Tours de France, and has won the mountains classification in both the Itzulia Basque Country and Critérium du Dauphiné this year. He also led the Giro d'Italia for two stages in 2023 after making the winning breakaway on stage 14.

Grischa Niermann, the head of racing for Visma-Lease a Bike, believes Armirail can still take further steps in his development within their professional environment. "Bruno is a talented rider with a lot of experience," Niermann said. "We are looking forward to seeing what he can achieve with us."
