Daily Agenda for 'Tour dementia' Action: Details on Logistics for Family Members and Affected Individuals Involved

On September 17, 2025, Bergisch Gladbach will host an action day themed around "Dementia". This event, held in conjunction with World Alzheimer's Day, promises a diverse and engaging program for all.

The day will kick off with a warm welcome for the bike group participating in the "Tour Demenz". Arriving at the Market Square around 3:25 pm, they will be greeted by the First Deputy Mayor Anna Maria Scheerer and other representatives.

From 2:30 pm, an exhibition titled "The Radiance of Age" will be open on the Market Square. This exhibition features portrait photos from the encounter centres of Caritas RheinBerg.

At the Volkshochschule Bergisch Gladbach, Police Sergeant and Traffic Safety Advisor, Nicole Sutschet, will give a lecture titled "Driving with dementia - assistance for relatives and interested parties" from 5:30-7:00 pm.

Meanwhile, at the DRK Refrather Treff, Senior Physician Meike Jacobsen from the EVK Bergisch Gladbach will deliver a lecture titled "Dement - what now?" at 10:00 am. Claudia Freudenberger from the guardianship office of the city of Bergisch Gladbach will follow with a lecture titled "Legal representation options in dementia - legal guardianship is good, but a lasting power of attorney is better" at 12:00 pm.

For those interested in the arts, a guided tour "With all senses" at Villa Zanders, focusing on the encounter with selected artworks of the exhibition "Eckart Hahn: Papiertiger", will take place at 4:00 pm. Registration for this event is required by September 15, 2025.

In addition to these events, the action day offers a variety of interactive activities and information booths. The Contact office for self-help in care, City Library, Guardianship office, Aging Support Office, Care counseling Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, ADFC Rhein-Berg, and Radwerk (Caritas) will all have information booths on the Market Square.

Registration for the "In rhythm of memory" dance offer at Villa Zanders on September 17, 2025, is also required by September 15, 2025. The TV Refrath will be present with their "In the rhythm of memory" dance and movement program for people with and without dementia.

The Care Authority of the City of Bergisch Gladbach will provide information on powers of attorney and patient decrees. The Fachstelle Älterwerden (formerly Seniors' Office) will offer information and materials on dementia. The bicycle workshop RADWERK will accompany the Regionalbüro’s bicycle group from the marketplace.
