Obituary: Dale B. Mellinger, 84, of Lancaster, PA
Dale B. Mellinger, a beloved resident of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2025, at the age of 84.
Dale was born in Ephrata and grew up in a loving family with Elmer B. and Kathryn Mae Weaver Mellinger as his parents. He was married to Drema L. Mentz Pavelsich Mellinger.
Dale worked diligently for 40 years at Ephrata Diamond Spring Water, serving as a sales/delivery driver. After retiring in 2003, he continued to contribute, working for 14 years in the Gift Shop at Shady Maple.
Dale was a cherished member of Harmony United Methodist Church and the Worship Center in Lancaster. His faith was an important part of his life.
Dale is survived by his six children: Vicky L. Hensel, Robert L. Mellinger, Anthony D. Mellinger, Lori Hurst, Cindy L. Mellinger, and Tonya Sweater. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren.
Tragically, Dale was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth L. Frankhouser Mellinger, a daughter, Alice Ann Frankhouser, and siblings, Gloria Spittler, Robert E. Mellinger, and Joyce L. Aument.
The funeral service for Dale Mellinger will be held on Monday, September 8, at 10:30 AM at the Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA. Pastor John Smith will conduct the service. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA, and at the church on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
The interment for Dale Mellinger will take place in the Terre Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dale Mellinger can be made to Hospice for All Seasons, 280 S. Hill Drive, Grantville, PA 17028.
