Dam construction in Solingen's Frankfurt area to be completed ahead of schedule

In the heart of Berlin, good news for commuters as the construction project at the intersection of Frankfurter Damm and Viehbachtalstraße has been completed ahead of schedule. The work, which began on July 8, was initially planned to last around four months but was finished earlier, thanks to cooperating construction crews and favourable weather conditions.

The construction project included several key improvements. The traffic light system at the junction has been renewed, with the green phase for right-turners to the city motorway and straight-goers shortened to enhance traffic flow. Additionally, a new lane has been built for those wanting to turn right onto the city motorway, which is expected to significantly improve traffic during peak times.

Moreover, the road surface of Viehbachtalstraße in the area of the access and exit has been renovated as part of the project. This renovation, along with the construction of the additional lane, is intended to ensure a faster traffic flow for vehicles passing through the city centre during peak times.

The "gained" green time is added to the other direction, allowing more vehicles to pass from the direction of the city centre in peak times. This change should make a noticeable difference in traffic congestion during busy hours.

After the completion of work on Viehbachtalstraße, access to the Solingen city motorway will be reopened. The announcement of the reopening of the Frankfurter Damm and the motorway access comes from the City Administration. Starting next Thursday, the Frankfurter Damm can be used again without restrictions in both directions.

The construction site at the intersection of Frankfurter Damm and Viehbachtalstraße started on July 8 and is now complete, with the work expected to be finished by September 13. This early completion of construction work on the intersection is a positive development for Berlin's traffic flow and commuters' daily travels.
