Dance Troupe of Holy Cross, Known as Holy Cross Dance Ensemble, Stages Spring Performance Spectacle
Holy Cross College Choir and Dance Ensemble Shine in Fall and Spring Performances
The College Choir and Chamber Singers, along with the Dance Ensemble, recently captivated audiences with their exceptional performances at Holy Cross.
On October 25, the College Choir and Chamber Singers presented their annual fall concert, titled "Sunshine Over the Blessed Earth," in the Luth Concert Hall of the Prior Performing Arts Center. The show was a sold-out performance and brought together a thoughtfully curated range of music.
Meanwhile, the Dance Ensemble, dedicated to giving back to the Worcester community, put on a mesmerising winter show. Ticket sales from this performance went directly toward Working for Worcester. The ensemble, consisting of students from all four grades, demonstrated a strong bond and camaraderie both on and off the stage.
The winter show featured a mix of upbeat numbers like "SOS," "Texas Hold 'Em," and a Beatlemania mash-up, as well as slower numbers like "End of Beginning," "Growing Pains," and "See You Again." The 17 senior dancers from the Class of 2024 had a bittersweet High School Musical number in honor of their upcoming graduation and their commitment to Dance Ensemble since the start of their Holy Cross careers.
On the morning following their spring show, the Dance Ensemble participated in Build Day as a team at Tatnuck Magnet School. This event marked their commitment to community service.
Caroline Kramer '26, a featured student, was actively involved in the College Choir, Gateways Orientation, Spring Break Immersion Program, Hall Council, The Spire, and was majoring in English and Sociology at Holy Cross. Caroline's favorite movie is Mamma Mia, and her favorite song is "Can't Take My Eyes off You" by Frankie Valli.
The Dance Ensemble's spring performance was their second and final performance of the semester. It took place on April 12 in the Luth Concert Hall. Unfortunately, no specific details were available about Annie Clark and Isabella Ruel serving as Senior and Junior Chairpersons of the Holy Cross Dance Ensemble.
Despite the passage of time, the memories of these exceptional performances continue to resonate within the Holy Cross community. As the academic year comes to a close, students like Caroline Kramer '26, from East Providence, RI, will undoubtedly continue to contribute to the vibrant arts scene at Holy Cross.
