Deadly collision on B311 close to Öpfingen: two fatalities result from passing maneuvers in the no-overtaking zone
On Thursday morning, a tragic incident occurred on Federal Road 311 near Öpfingen. According to reports by the Ulm police, a fatal traffic accident involving a Mazda 5 and an Audi A4 took place between Oberdischingen and Öpfingen at around 3:45 AM.
The drivers of both vehicles, a 38-year-old man in the Mazda 5 and a 55-year-old individual in the Audi A4, sustained severe injuries and sadly passed away at the scene of the accident.
The driver of a white truck, who was traveling from Ehingen towards Ulm, did not notice the accident as he continued his journey after the incident. Police are urging the driver to come forward as a witness. However, no further details about the driver of the white truck have been provided.
The accident resulted in significant damages, estimated to be around 30,000 euros. Federal Road 311 was fully closed until approximately 8:45 AM due to the accident and the subsequent cleanup efforts.
